Søværn Kulsort – Our Blacked-Out Explorer

The Søværn Kulsort is our boldest take on the classic Navy-Field-Watch format. Kulsort, Danish for “coal black,” perfectly captures what this watch is about: an all-black design that stays true to our Nordic roots while pushing into a more rugged, tactical look. The entire case, bezel, crown, bracelet, and clasp are coated in Diamond-Like Carbon – known as DLC. This ultra-durable coating not only gives the watch its deep black finish, it also adds scratch resistance and makes it a true tool for everyday adventures.

Sized for Everyday Comfort

At 39 mm wide and just 10.5 mm thick, the Kulsort wears incredibly well on the wrist. The size is ideal for most wrists, giving just enough presence without feeling bulky. The screw-down crown and 100 meters of water resistance make it ready for anything from a hike in the woods to a swim in cold Nordic waters.

Dial Design that Keeps It Simple

The dial sticks to our design principles: clean, minimal, and legible. A sandwich construction adds depth without clutter. The date sits at 6 o'clock, with a blacked-out wheel to match the dial. Bright BGW9 Superluminova glows through the cutouts and on all three hands, ensuring easy readability day or night. 

Built with Real-World Use in Mind

Everything about this model is built to last. The solid link bracelet features quick-release spring bars, screw pins, and a push-button clasp with on-the-fly micro-adjustment. Inside beats the reliable and ultra-thin Miyota 9015 movement – accurate, tough, and proven.

Only 50 individually numbered pieces of the Søværn Kulsort exist. It’s simple, stealthy, and serious about performance.
